Persian Tasty Grill

So my kebab mission begins. My arteries are screaming NO but I am very very excited about this! We start with the Persian Tasty Grill

We moved to Manchester a year ago and we needed a new kebab house (we had a "local" back in Birmingham that provided brilliant chicken pakora kebabs) and Persian Tasty Grill was the first place we found. I walked in late one Sunday evening and asked the proprietor what his speciality was and said "We do the best kebab in Manchester". You cannot fault his confidence! So this is our first kebab review.

We usually order one grill special between two of us which costs £10. This includes 4 Lamb chops, chicken tikka, kobeda, mint yoghurt, chilli sauce, a large nan (extra nan for £1), salad and pickled chillies. Today there were three of us so we got two kebabs, which meant we ate 2/3 of a kebab each and it was way to much.

They cook all the meat on a grill in front of you and the nan is done to order in a clay oven.

Let's be clear, this kebab is absolutely freakin' awesome. I think it is great value for money and is genuinely tasty. The meat is not particularly fatty and the grilling seals in the flavour. We found that they have a tendency to add a fair bit of salt so we now ask them not to put any extra on, this means I no longer wake up six hours latter dehydrated like a tramp after a night on the meths.

This kebab is a long long way from the dog meat in a pitta bread that I used to eat after a night on the beers back in small town England. Its rammed full of flavour, variety and general kebaby goodness. Try it now and let me know what you think.

I've just eaten my dinner and that still made me hungry! And you're right, nowhere does kebabs quite like Manchester.
